Man Utd are keeping tabs on PSV Eindhoven attacking midfielder Ola Toivonen, the Swedish International is being monitored by some of Europe’s biggest clubs and you can now add Sir Alex Ferguson’s Manchester United to that growing list.
Toivonen who was once coveted by West Ham United has already knocked in 38 goals in just 50 appearances for PSV and it is not surprise that Sir Alex would like to see the 24 year old running out at Old Trafford, however it is expected that PSV will hold out for a significant fee for a player that cost them less than €5 Million in January 2009.
Toivonen has improved year in year out and got the big clubs taking notice after some impressive performances for PSV, not least a first half hat trick against ADO Den Haag last November.
The biggest issue for Man Utd will be if an auction develops for the player and that is thought likely, if that was too happen, Man Utd could easily find themselves priced out of the market considering their current financial state.
That said the lure of football in the Premiership and in particular playing football at Old Trafford may be enough for the player to demand a move to Manchester if Sir Alex does indeed table a bid, not many players turn down a move to United.
