Another one of our delicious little lists that create debate and today we target Arsenal and their prospects in the transfer market. Arsene Wenger the Arsenal boss has already stated that the Gunners require some maturity in the team and he is almost certain to bring in some fresh experienced blood to The Emirate this summer and while it is easy to draw up a list of teenage sensations linked with Arsene Wenger’s men it is not so easy to link five English players with Arsenal.
Arsene Wenger has hardly had the biggest squad of English players in his time at Arsenal and outside Theo Walcott and good old Ashley Cole it is hard to name too many players that have been capped by England while playing for Arsenal, well not recently anyway.
Therefore this is a list of five English players that have been linked with Arsenal that could in theory turn out for the England national team.
As usual if you disagree that’s fine, all you have to do is create your own list in the comments box below.
Five English players linked with Arsenal
Joe Cole
Cole will soon be available on a free transfer and Arsenal have been linked with the England International on more than one occasion, not sure he would fit in that well at The Emirates but if anyone can get the best out of Cole it would be Wenger.
Gary Cahill
Bolton’s tall defender has been linked with Arsenal numerous times this season already and is tipped as a future England star, would Wenger really go for Cahill, not so sure.
Joe Hart
Manchester City’s number two currently on loan at Birmingham has been touted as the next Arsenal number one, they could do a lot worse, in fact they do, they have Almunia and Fabianski.
Jack Rodwell
The young Everton midfielder has been linked with Arsenal many times already but unless the player stamps his feet and chucks his dummy out of the pram there is very little chance that David Moyes will authorise a transfer to Arsenal,
Scott Parker
West Ham midfield general has been linked with Arsenal only recently and the truth be told Arsenal could do a lot worse than sign Parker, he would at least add some steal to the midfield, Arsenal would no longer be easy targets for rough defenders and Parker would bring a certain amount of protection to the likes of Van Persie and Fabregas.
Ok that’s the five English players that Arsenal could end up purchasing, not all obviously, but one or two is a very big possibility.

Arsrene wenger is making a very big mistake in the transfer market cos this players listed are not experienced known of them have played in the uefa champions league except joe cole.he should purchase players of well expericed in the ucl.players who can counter with other players around the world nt only one league player.

None of them will make it in the Arsenal squad….
these all would be brilliant signings , english players will fight for this club
this is the reason why we show a lack of fighting spirit no english players ready to fight for the club
All of the names mentioned above are total speculation Arsene Wenger would only consider buying one of them and it’s Joe Cole .The rest of the players cited wouldn’t even cross Wenger’s mind.
id take any of them…
maybe not parker…
Arsene wenger needs to boost his defence and a striker coz we have poor finish and poor defence.
Not experienced? 3 of them have played international football with the other 2 set to play international football very soon. Champions League is not the top of the ladder and unlike the World Cup the best team does not always win it.
here are 3 more England players linked to Arsenal this summer, Green, Noble, Upson – I would take all 8 thank you very much
Green better than Almunia
Hart better than Fabianski
Cahill better than Campbell
Upson better than Silvestre
Cole better than Rosicky
Parker better than Denilson
Rodwell better than Diaby
Noble better than Merida
I would let all of the above and replace them with the England 8 i would also let these 5 go and replace with
Gallas, replace with Wilson (Portsmouth)
Senderos replace with Jones (Blackburn)
Gilbert replace with Clyne (Crystal Palace)
Eduardo bring in Chamakh
Vela bring in Moses (Wigan)
Traore bring in Botelho
14 out – 12 Brits in plus Chamakh & Botelho Makes our squad a lot more balanced between the good foreign players Fabregas, RVP, Vermaelen, Sagna, Clichy, Arshavin and the good Brits, i for one would not be hesitating to renew my season ticket unlike i am now.
Green
Hart
Mannone/Sczseney
Sagna – Cahill – Vermaelen- Clichy
Eboue-Djourou-Upson-Gibbs
Clyne-Jones-Wilson-Botelho
Fabregas-Parker-Cole
Noble-Song-Ramsey
Wilshere-Rodwell-Lansbury
RVP-Chamakh-Arshavin
Walcott-Bendtner-Nasri
Simpson-JET-Moses
Parker would be a horrible signing….
The rest would be typical good wenger signings
Joe Cole would be nice but I don’t think he’s a realistic target. Our midfield is stacked and I wouldn’t rate Cole ahead of Nasri, Cesc, or Arshavin. That means JC would have to fight with Rosicky, Walcott, and DIaby (likely) for a place and at 28 having come from Chelsea he’s looking for more of a guaranteed starting role.
Joe Hart would be nice because I’m not impressed with Fabianski at all and Almunia doesn’t inspire confidence in his decision-making either. Almunia is a good shot stopper for the most part but we need better decisions and a keeper who commands HIS area.
Parker is an interesting option but I don’t rate him higher than Song. I do admit however that Song needs to work on shooting on target to complete his game.
Cahill is good and his size is great but I think Wenger wants someone with more international experience to partner with Vermaelen. Cahill as a plan B is appealing.
depth iz what we don’t have in our squad…you wanna what depth is all about, see Intermilan,Chelsea and Barcelona
dont worry he is not gona buy a single player from that list u will b lucky if he buys anybody other than chamakh
Arsenal has no problem wenger is arsenal problem can anyone tell him to buy players upto six include keeper.
hey bloody big mistake, wat the hell u know of football……..buying a joe cole will improve the creativity of our midfield……and we desperately need a defender and cahill fits the bill and he is damn experienced at 24.and scott parkar is a great midfielder he can work very hard and can score screamers……..it would be better to replace ramsey by a parker……
well jack rodwell…i m not sure , he is that good or not…
but gooners remember we do need english players to follow the premier league rules……
but they are english and “adds steel” and are old and all that english gooners crave!
Only Joe Cole and Joe Hart could break into the Arsenal team out of that list for me, Rodwell would be a good one for the future though. Arsenal need match winners, I don’t think Parker has it in him to help decide a match but I would see him more as a squad player alongside Cahill.
I agree Arsenal need to strengthen their midfield to protect Fabregas and I don’t see why Wenger can’t make one big signing with a strong holding player like Muntari, Melo, Yaya Toure or Toulalan.
Another defender might add more steal to the team and they have been linked with Mexes…
these would be the 5 English players i would add to the gunners squad;
GK – Jo Hart – he has had an outstanding season with Birmingham and i think should be England No 1
Def – Gary Cahill – a future England star, is a tall and powerfull defender and would add a much needed physical presences next to Vermaelen.
Mid – Jack Rodwell- another future England star who would fit straight in with Arsenals style of play, one for Arsene to take under his wing and turn him into World Class Player.
Mid – James Milner – i thought i would put him in just because it would be a miracle if he he ever joined us, the hottest prospect in English football.
Str – Carlton Cole – if he could stay fit i beleive he could be a great addition to our stike force, at 10 to 15 goals a season from the power house a good prospect and worth the Gamble!
4-4-3 formation
——————— Hart…………………………….
Sagna —— Cahill ——– Vermaelen —– Clichy
—— Fabregas ——– Song ——– Rodwell(Milner) —–
Cole (Chamak)———– Van Persie ———– Arshavin
4-4-2 Diamond
——————— Hart…………………………………..
Sagna —— Cahill ——– Vermaelen —– Clichy
———————- Song ———————
———-Milner(Rodwell)—————–Fabrgeas ———
——————– Arshavin ——————–
———— Van Persie ——- Chamak(cole) ———-
“…he would at least add some steal to the midfield”
He’d add some “steal” to the midfield, would he?
You, sir, are an idiot.
Jay has it right. No English players ready to fight for ther club. Even if they are not gooners originally, at least they are English and will stand up and have a go. not like these mincers Wenger gets
and to hell with his “beautiful football
Sundance has it right too. Plus let me add Wenger will not buy a player. Free transfer only to save a quid
I agree with above guys saying we lack English players, bring’em in. We’ll go a long way ahead if we do.
Francis, well said dude!
Wenger does not like to spend the cash on english players – expect to see more young foreign players who get sold on after years.
We need a solid defender – upson
a winger – Ashley young / Milner
Parker would be a good buy for a bit of depth.
also need a target man upfront.
2 goal keepers Hart / Green
He might surprise us this year but i doubt it
Gunner forever!
Green,Samba,Cahill and Parker will be the right straine for Arsenl
English players are too expensive and they cant deliver what u expected….eg walcott doesnt know where to cross where to run and shoot the ball……….our unbeaten sqad was full of foreign players except for cashley cole…..daddy do ur job… bring on french players
1. sack rosicky
2. sack eduardo
3. sack silveste
4. sack tarore
5. sack vella
For any1 who doubts wenger ur thick hes done so much for this club would u ratjer us b in stupid amounts ov dbt lik the pool or mancs come on think about it
Arsrene wenger is making a very big mistake in the transfer market ……………….in the january transfer market
