While it is widely anticipated that Lille playmaker Eden Hazard is heading to England this summer, his destination is as yet unconfirmed. With the big clubs around the Premier League sitting with open cheque books to welcome the Belgian one that already appears to have been priced out of the move is Arsenal.
Currently sitting in a lowly sixth place in the Premier League table, the once giants of London are facing the real prospect of no Champions League football next season, the first time that could happen under the reign of Arsene Wenger.
And the frugal Frenchman runs the risk of earning the ire of his once devoted fans by stating that it is more important for Arsenal to earn a healthy profit than to buy talent. In an interview to SoccerNet, Wenger said, “You should know that each season, it is imperative to show a profit of between fifteen and twenty million pounds. I would add that the purpose of a coach is to always buy at a price he sees fit.”
With Hazard reportedly priced at close to €30 million it is extremely unlikely that Hazard will be seen strutting his stuff on the Emirates pitch in anything other than a visiting team’s jersey.

Does it not occur to the Arsenal hierarchy that buying great players will bring great results and therefore great profits??????????????????
That’s interesting … I wonder if that is now the Kroenke rule. It is high time the Directors (mainly Kroenke) had the goodness to tell us all what the financial restrictions (still) are. They are too happy letting Wenger take the flack fro everything.
