The Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is adamant that the Gunners will turn things around and string together some victories to propel them back up the table. Last night he was asked why he believed that and Wenger replied: “The quality of our players, the spirit of our players and the quality of our team play.”
So does he still think that Arsenal could challenge Manchester United for the Premiership title?
“It is too early to speak about that.” he said. “Let’s come back to a better distance with the top teams before we speak about that and then we will see. If the team gets momentum, we can be very strong,”

“It is absolutely not realistic not to be worried when you have a team like Manchester United in front of you. The only thing we can do is focus on our performances, win our games and hope they will drop some points at some stage.
“However, at the moment I am more concerned by us than them. If they do a perfect season, they do a perfect season. Until now, only one team did that – Arsenal.”
I like the little dig at Man Utd at the end, but the fact is that Alex Ferguson’s team still have a chance to go through the season unbeaten, whereas Arsenal’s chance disappeared in their second game…….
