Weds 12th June – Arsenal daily transfer rumours and news round up

Vito Mannone has slipped to 3rd choice at Arsenal and the 25-year old goalkeeper is being lined up for a return to Italian Serie A as the Daily Star reports that Parma and Genoa are chasing the player’s signature. Mannone has fallen behind Lukasz Fabianski and Wojciech Szczesny in pecking order and the Gunners are willing to cash in on the stopper.

Arsenal are apparently interested in signing young Benfica defender Lorenzo Melgarejo according to the players agent. Speaking to Radio Monumental Juan Gabriel Appleyard claimed that both Arsenal and Fenerbahce have made enquiries about his client, though one has to take most agents statements with a pinch of salt, they are after all trying to boost a players valuation and what better way to do that than announce a premiership top four side is interested.

PSG have been linked with a move for Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas but according to Talksport the French billionaires want Arsene Wenger and not Villas-Boas. Talksport are quoting Erik Bielderman, footballwriter for L’Equipe stating that the PSG fans want Wenger and not AVB, not that it makes much difference as it is very unlikely that either manager would leave the Premiership for French football, not unless they were offered a stupendous amount of money and even then chances are Wenger would still say no.
