There is a report today that says that the Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp has drawn up a short list of candidates to replace Heurelho Gomes in goal next season.
Top of the list is the wantaway Man City goalkeeper Shay Given, who has failed to win back his place from Joe Hart at the Eastlands. Given has already indicated that he will definitely be leaving Man City this summer to find a first-team place.

The second target, according to the Metro, is the Ajax and Holland star Maarten Stekelenberg, who has also decided to move to the Premier League if the chance arises. He was thought to be a target for Man Utd and has so far refused to sign a “fantastic offer” of a new contract at the Dutch giants.
“I wanted to see how things develop,” Stekelenberg said. “Nothing has happened, so I will talk with Ajax. I have had a fantastic time here and I have great respect for the board.
“I have always been treated very well. They have made a fantastic offer, and a second meeting is scheduled. But it has to do with whether anything else might come my way.”
He would certainly be an able replacement for Gomes if Redknapp fails in his bid to sign Given.
The third choice target is reported to be Ben Foster, but any move for him would be dependent on whether Birmingham get relegated or not.
