Tottenham are intending to fine Darren bent after the player made some less than dignified comments on twitter even if they are selling him.
Bent can expect a fine of two weeks wages for breaking club discipline and it will make zero difference that he is being sold.
If Bent thought that by demonstrating his displeasure at Chairman Daniel Levy that it would speed his transfer up he is about to get a shock.
It is a shame if Bents time at Spurs ends on such a sour note but he will only have himself to blame, no one asked him to do some silly twittering.
Sunderland are still favourites to land Bent but the negotiations are starting to become stretched by Tottenham’s insistence on Sunderland paying Tottenham’s asking price.
Tottenham though do need to be careful or they may end up with a less than happy player who’s value will only continue to drop.
