Tottenham to re-sign Berbatov for £10m?

The Man Utd striker Dimitar Berbatov is entering the last year of his contract at Old Trafford, but he has emphatically denied that he will be leaving this summer despite there being no sign of an extension being offered by the Premier League Champions.

The Bulgarian international arrived from Tottenham for £30m a few years ago, but now the Metro reports that Spurs are being offered the chance to take Berbatov back to White Hart Lane for just £10m.

There is obviously something wrong between Berbatov and Alex Ferguson, as the 30 year-old was snubbed for last night’s Champions League match against Barcelona, and Michael Owen was on the bench as reserve striker while Beerbatov wasn’t even in the squad.

Berbatov doesn’t seem to have lost his goalscoring boots and finished the season as top scorer in the League despite being on the bench for half of it.

So would Tottenham fans welcome him back to White Hart Lane next season?

No thanks his sulky attitude would only disrupt the team spirit. We need to look forward to the future not back to the past!

Of course, he is the PL top scorer and once one of our own. If he has learnt his lesson and keeps his head down for the club and the fans then I don’t see why not.

  • Dean in Brum

Absolutely – he would be the perfect striker to play upfront on his own. He is a proven Premier League goal scorer and is far better than some of the strikers that we’re being linked with. Bring it on…

    Has he learnt his lesson?
Top scorer but couldn’t even make the subs bench last night!

Berbatov is an emotionally unstable individual. He thrives on success. He would NOT be a good investment for Spurs. If he had been playing for us this last season and the club failed to qualify for the champion’s league he would have sulked his way out of WHL.HE HAS NO LOYALTY TO ANY ONE BUT HIMSELF.His moodiness would affect other players in the team and his
asset value would be discounted by his poor attitude.

  • Ian Chivers

Lets not forget that last time he virtually WENT ON STRIKE. Great player, agreed. But at what cost to the rest of the side.

Great player, lovely touches and a good goal getter……………………….But!!

Is only good when he is happy, tends to sulk, is a lazy b******d and does not add to team spirit.

    No thanks!
