There are reports on Caughtoffside.com today suggesting Spurs boss Harry Redknapp could make a surprise move for Aston Villa striker Gabriel Agbonlahor in January.
A source close to Spurs revealed that Harry Redknapp has been keeping a close eye on the Villa striker for some time now, and he has been impressed with what he has seen.
Villa have made a solid start to this season and are still unbeaten after their first seven games, and Agbonlahor has scored four of their nine league goals this season.
Villa boss Alex McLeish would be extremely reluctant to sell a player of Agbonlahor’s ability in January, especially after losing Ashley Young and Stewart Downing in the summer.
Money is known to be tight at Villa Park, but if Spurs were to offer the right amount, believed to be in the region of £20million, it could just tip the balance in their favour though they may well have to offer a significant amount more than that if they are to secure his services.

Are you guys for real?? 20mil pounds.
More like 2mil. not worth 1 penny more.
20 mill for him? Not a chance. Maybe for 8-10 hit for a player that had a shocking last season that a ludicrous price.
Zak… you’re on crack
SG is right zak, you’re off your head mate. He isn’t worth 20m though and i don’t see us going for him anyway. If we don’t sign Ade on a permanent we’ll be in the market for a 20+ goal striker and gabby isn’t that. He’s a good player, can score and sets up his fair share too, but i don’t think he has 20 goals a season in him. Other teams need to leave villa alone anyway, if they’d kept all their players over the last few seasons they’d have a fantastic team now. I don’t see him wanting to leave anyway, he’s all but top dog there now the others have been sold.
Spurs fans are funny. ‘Overpriced’ ‘Not worth more than a couple of mill’ ‘Not good enough for Spurs’.
They said the same about Ashley Young. They really are the most clueless, and most deluded fans in the country. Very amusing.
Agbonlahor isn’t useless as some of you are saying. He’s a very quick, skillful, hard working player and would be an excellent signing for us, however, I can’t see him wanting to move. Granted Spurs (and I mean no offense to Villa fans here) are a better side and challenging for more than Villa are currently but let’s not forget. He is a local lad, he’s a villa fan… He may wish to stay at Villa until united or someone come in for him. Non starter for me. COYS
lol..if Redknapp really does think he’s worth 20mil he wants his head tested.
Any striker Spurs buy needs to be world class..this bloke is a 6 out of 10 premiership stiker.
No Thanks!
What complete and utter rubbish, who writes this nonsense.
Gabby is Villa through and through and has said himself he is a one club man. Why would he sign for a manager who will be England manager when the current idiot incumbant stands down.
Everytime a Villa player has a good run of games we have to put up with these fairy stories, Bannan to ManUre, Gabby to the Spuds, Albrighton to Liverpool.
We dont want him hes smelly hahahahaha… LOL wunt pay more than 20 pund for abgonlaHER LOL … PMS yoo keep this brat boy.. we have nice bales man.. hahaha LMAO
