The in-demand Marseille midfielder Lorik Cana is coveted by Arsene Wenger to beef up his defence at a cheap price, and Rafael Benitez is alsio known to be very keen on the hard-man Marseille captain.
But today the Sun reports that Tottenham have decided to join the bidding for a player that has admitted that he could move to the Premiership with the blessing of the Marseille management.
He said last week: “Even if I have another three years on my contract, the door is still open for me to depart,” Cana said.
“I’ll talk to my family and the leaders [of Marseille] at the end of the season. I will not finish my career here. But I don’t want to hurry and I don’t want to leave without winning something for OM. Today, it’s 50-50,” he added.
“England and Germany are the two championships that interest me the most.”

He will not go to Tottenham. Why would he go from playing and being captain for a big club like Marseille and go to White Hart Lane which has no history to speak of? He will either go to Arsenal or Liverpool. Liverpool don’t really need him as they have Mascherano (who is world class). Arsenal do need him as they are lacking a real leader who would captain the team and will not be afraid of doing the dirty work. Wenger should get Cana even if he costs 15 million euros, he is worth the cost. Albanian4life. Wenger needs to get him asap.
Cana?I have been expecting Wenger to Move for this beast a long time ago.He is absolutely fantastic and commanding, commited and strong. This is who Arsenal needs now.A leader who can take everygame by the scruff of the neck
