Tottenham in £12m bid for Argentina midfielder

According to a report on IMScouting, Tottenham are trying to tempt the Atletico Madrid captain Maxi Rodriguez to move to the Premiership.

The report said: The Spanish newspaper AS claims this morning that Tottenham are eager to sign Argentinean midfielder Maxi Rodriquez from Atletico Madrid, and will offer 12 million euros for the 28-year-old.

According to AS, Spurs have been interested in signing Rodriguez for two seasons now and are willing to pay 12 million euros.

Atletico Madrid would prefer a fee closer to 15 million but will likely accept 12, in order to secure a move for Argentinean winger Eduardo Salvio from Lanus.

The Premier League club may struggle to convince Rodriguez to leave Atletico as his contract expires at the end of next season and he would prefer to leave as a free agent next summer.

Maxi Rodriguez played 41 games for Atletico Madrid last season, scoring 10 goals and providing four assists, he also picked up seven yellow cards.

He would be an excellent buy for Harry Redknapp if he could persuade him to move. Do Spurs fans want him at White Hart Lane?

Yes he would be able to keep palacios company with his 12 yellow and a red .No way we should keep tom hudds better passer bigger less cards and this year will score more goals and will be a lot slimmer. And this is because is knee is finaly fixed and wont be grumbeling along effecting his game like it whas

  6. T-boy says:

Davspurs what are you on about? Maxi is nothing like Hudd. For a start he’s a winger but, when he does play in-field, he’s also an attacking midfielder. He’s quality on the ball & scores goals (he got 11 last season for Atletico, I don’t see Hudd ever getting close to that, knee or no knee). And what’s all this about cards? Maxi got 6 yellow cards last season & no reds at all!

if he comes to spurs its am excellent move. solid combative goal scoring left / central midfielder. alongside Palacios this would be a solid pairing added to this the creative flair from Modric, we could see the new season as the light at the end of the tunnel. after all those yaers of having weak crap non tackilng midfielders.
