The Wigan defender Paul Scharner has decided that he wants to move on this summer, despite still having two years left on his contract at the JJB.
Wigan paid £2.5m to SK Brann for Scharner three years ago, but now the towering Austrian international thinks he has outgrown the team, and at 29 he feels that it is time for a fresh challenge at a more ambitious club.
He said: “Tottenham, Everton and Fulham are interested in me, just like Hertha and Hamburg.
“I would prefer to stay in England.”
