The Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp has been trying hard to get a proven goalscorer at White Hart Lane all year, and he even made a personal visit to Atletico Madrid to make a bid for Diego Forlan in January.
The Spanish giants refused to listen to offers at that time, but after a less than successful season, Atletico have now fallen out with the prolific Uruguayan hitman and are willing to let him go this summer, and the Metro is convinced that he will moving to Spurs.

Redknapp is still trying to bring in strikers and he will be pleased to know that Forlan has opened the door to another approach from Tottenham. The Atletico president Enrique Cerezo told the press that Forlan had had offers from Turkey and the Premier League and remarked: “Diego will decide what happens, but it looks like his first choice will be England,”
Forlan is no doubt an accomplished striker, but would Tottenham fans want him now that he is 32 years old?

hOW CAN HE BE “LONG TERM” IF HE’S 32?
Forlan showed at the world cup that he is still a class act and he has more pace and hunger than any of our current forwards. Lets pay the 7m and sack keane off for whatever we can get. happy days, some positive news on the striker front! wont get excited though until i see him in a white shirt. COYS
The simple answer is no we should not sign him when i see a player with a gaunt looking face my alarm bells ring. There is lets say false energy going around and the only reason Kolo Toure got caught was he stayed on the bench and was still full of the damming energy Spain is also full of it and other-European country’s.
TO FECKING OLD BY 150 MILES GET LOST FORLAN YOU WERE ASKED ONCE AND REFUSED ! HARRY NO CHEAP OLD MEN PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESE !
no thanks
yes, spurs fans would want him. He has a good 2 years left in him, and his mobility and skill on the ball would make him a hit at the lane.
