It seems to be too late for Tony Adams to be advising Arsene Wenger on who he should be buying for the Arsenal team, but he has decided to make his opinion known about the expected signing of the Ajax defender Thomas Vermaelen.
Basically he believes that Wenger is making a mistake in paying a reported £10m for Vermaelen.
He told the Daily Mirror: “Thomas is a very good player but I don’t think he’s ready for the Arsenal.
“I don’t think the punters at Arsenal would like another small one.
“I have been looking at the Dutch league, but it’s been decimated. It’s a poor league at the moment, there’s one or two players, but they’re leaving too early as well.”
I’m not sure if Wenger would be keen to hear his views but Adams seems very keen on getting his opinions in the papers lately.

silence is golden Tony
This is old news
Adams is off his head…A right weirdo after all his councelling etc
Dear Adams let wenger take his decision,it may work out, you never know, he is a man who does his things and at times they challenge the media. For my case i do not advise him to sale any player but to buy experienced ones, who can close gaps where the team is weak, further to have enough players for rotation to avoid fatigue. Arsenal is a club in premiership among the big 4 which have smallest squad.I like him, his brilliant.
[...] Adams’ stark assessment of Thomas Vermaelen also highlights the thinking in the Premier League where the best defenders are thought to be [...]
I wonder what he thinks now…
