Theo Walcott has wasted no time in letting his boss Arsene Wenger know that he is the ready made replacement for Robin Van Persie, albeit subtly.
Van Persie is out for a while and Walcott who himself has not long returned from injury has told the Daily Mail that he would love to play up front, saying
“I would love to play up front, it was my position.”
“I played up front at Southampton but it has been quite a while. I will play anywhere for this team.”
Walcott has also confirmed he is doing fine now after his injury
“I feel great. I have been training well, the fitness coaches and all the staff have been looking after me very well.”
“The knee feels fine.”
“I have spoken to a couple of the players who have had similar problems — Cesc Fabregas and Tomas Rosicky — and they said I would feel it for the first initial weeks but I haven’t felt the problem.”
Cannot be bad when you do have a player like Walcott to replace Van Perise, but will Wenger get the hint?

Maybe it will work.I don’t think he’s at all fit yet though. He was pretty shocking when he came on last night. He has always been a better finisher than crosser. He is instinctive. When he has to make choices he is exposed.
