The Bolton News, owned by Gannet who also own USA Today are claiming that Blackburn want to sell their prized asset Junior Hoilett and that Bolton Wanderers are set to beat the likes of Spurs and Liverpool to the 21 year old’s signature.
Now, Gannet are a highly respected media company and one would have thought that they would have prided themselves on doing an article without any contradictions, but alas no.
As an example The Bolton News open up their article with this
Wanderers have made a sensational swoop on neighbours Blackburn Rovers for their prized asset Junior Hoilett.
Owen Coyle is looking to beat the likes of Liverpool, Stoke City and Tottenham to the punch and snap up the Canadian youngster before his contract expires in the summer.
Blackburn appear desperate to sell both Hoilett and defender Chris Samba this month to fund Steve Kean’s transfer plans, and it is understood that Wanderers owner Eddie Davies has sanctioned the cash to test Rovers’ resolve.
So, Blackburn are desperate to sell Hoilett in order to fund further acquisitions, this however is sort of contradicted further down in the article when they quote Blackburn boss Steve Kean
“If somebody bids for him he might not want to go to that club,” he said. “He might want to sit out the last part of his contract here and see what opens up for him.
“I can understand why people might think we are trying to sell him on but we are not, we would like him to sign again.”
There you have it from Kean, he states rather clearly that Blackburn are not desperate to sell, to quote him in short again he says “I can understand why people might think we are trying to sell him on but we are not, we would like him to sign again.”
So, in conclusion this is what is really happening, Blackburn do not want to sell, they want him to sign a new contract but it is up to the player himself.
Therefore the article in The Bolton News has to be taken with a large pinch of salt, not least because no player in their right mind would choose Bolton over Liverpool or Spurs and secondly because The Bolton News clearly have it wrong when they state that Blackburn are desperate to sell, that alone undermines the entire article.

It’s just BWFC trying to stir up the situation at BRFC, they can’t even afford to sack coyle let alone land Hoilett, who FYI would NEVER move to bolton because he has much bigger ambitions.
