Not really sure I should be doing this, but I’m opposing the Gunners on this one.
The reason for me to doubt my own decision is simple. Arsenal has been running smooth of late with 11 wins and 2 draws in their last 13 games in all competitions.
On the other hand The Black Cats are winless in 4 and only managed one draw in them (Ok, 2 draws if you count the PK shoot-out loss to Aston Villa in the Carling Cup as a draw).
But I fear Arsenal international players could be exhausted, as most of them have had to play 2 games on Saturday and Wednesday.
The squad is also going to sorely miss quite a few through injury, and the most effective one is Van Persie’s I would say.
Also, Arsenal have midweek CL fixture, and I’m always wary of EPL fixtures coming shortly before European ones.
Sunderland’s Cana is back from suspension. However, both Turner and Jones have been ruled out, and Gordon is also on the injury list.
Never-the-less, a game coming after an international break, and just before a European CL round will always has the potential to produce an upset for a member of the BIG Four, and Sunderland are no mugs.. that’s for sure.
