According to a report in todays Daily Star, Newcastle defender Habib Beye is being chased by a host of Premiership clubs. The report says: SUNDERLAND are in a tug-of-war with Blackburn for Newcastle defender Habib Beye, with Stoke also showing interest in the Senegal international.
Beye was one of Sam Allardyce’s few successful signings during his ill-fated spell in charge at St James’s Park and the Rovers chief is keen to be reunited with the right-back, who can also play at centre-half.
Steve Bruce, armed with a £50m transfer kitty following billionaire Ellis Short’s successful takeover, is keen to strengthen his Sunderland squad.
Is Beye too good to play in the Championship?
