Sunday 3rd Feb – Man City daily news round up

Carlos Tevez heads the list of names rumored to be heading out of the Etihad in the summer. The Mirror understands that Roberto Mancini is keen to have a massive clear-out at Manchester City and Tevez will be allowed to leave with the striker expressing his reluctance to sign a new deal. Other names heading out of the exit door include Samir Nasri, Edin Dzeko, Joleon Lescott, Scott Sinclair, Aleksander Kolarov and Maicon. Gareth Barry and James Milner might also have to worry about their place in the squad.

Roberto Mancini has admitted that he will be cheering for Manchester United in their Champions League tie against Real Madrid for selfish reasons. The Sun reports that Mancini eyes the double-header as an opportunity for his team to close the gap on rivals United who could be distracted from their Premier League commitments. The Manchester City manager was also hopeful of catching United despite the 10-point gap and said, “If we could do it last year when we were eight points behind with six games to go, it’s not impossible that we can recover this with 14 games left.”
