Sunday 3rd Feb – Arsenal daily news round up

There are contrasting reports regarding David Villa’s move to Arsenal. The People reports that after failing in January to land Villa, Arsenal have turned their attention to younger targets and Arsene Wenger wants to invest the cash elsewhere. Meanwhile, the Sun understands that Villa has set his sights on a move to the Emirates and the striker has told Barcelona about his desire of a £14million switch in the summer.

Arsene Wenger has a keen fondness for everything French. If he’s not getting French players then he is chasing players from the French league. The Metro reports that the Arsenal manager is pondering over a move for Lorient striker Alain Traore in the summer. Wenger has been monitoring the Burkina Faso international and was considering a move in the last few days of January but had to pull out due to a thigh injury to the player. Traore has been rated at £5 million by his club and has also attracted interest from Manchester United.
