The new Burnley signing Steven Fletcher is extremely happy to be moving to the Premier League, and made his feelings clear in this article in the Daily Express: Burnley boss Owen Coyle snapped up the striker from Hibs in a £3.5million transfer.
Fletcher, 22, turned down interest from Blackburn and Celtic to sign a four-year deal with the Turf Moor outfit.
The Scotland international said: “I am delighted. I have never hidden my desire to play in England and, in particular, the Premiership. Going down south was always my first choice and I’m glad I have been given that chance by Burnley.
“I was impressed with Owen Coyle’s plans and I know he is looking for the club to make an impact in the Premiership.
“He really sold the club to me. There was interest from one or two others but after sitting down and discussing things, I felt Burnley was the best move for me. I want to play every week and I believe I’ll get that chance at Burnley
“The manager believes I can play a big part and I think going down there and playing against top players every week will see me become a better player.”

Last year, Real Madrid…..YES, REAL MADRID had expressed their interest in signing Fletcher. But I can clearly see why he wants to play for a team like Burnley because he knows that he wont get the minutes he wants with any other club. Clubs like Celtic and Blackburn will use him just as a super-sub. I bet you Owen Coyle has big plans for this guy.
