Sampdoria V Juventus Preview

sampdoriaOn the H2H it doesn’t look good for Sampdoria, as they are 0-2-3 vs Juve here at Genoa since they were promoted back to Serie A in 2004. However, they did draw in their last 2, so that’s a step in the right direction.

Juve may have won by 5-1 at home earlier this season, but back then Sampdoria were struggling big time, and where in the bottom half of the table. Look at them now. Back in the top half and even in a European position, with just one point to separate them from Juve themselves.

Juve and Sampdoria are 2 and 3 points (respectively) behind 4th placed Palermo after the latter have drawn at home to Inter last night, so they are very much in contention to break back into the top 4 (both have been there earlier this season) and end up playing in the Champions League.

Now my point is Sampdoria are undefeated at home all season (8-5-0) and have won their last 3 at home, and with Cassano and Pazzini starting upfront they certainly will find their way to the back of Juventus’ net.

Currently the Blanconeri cannot defend for love or for money, and the 4 goals they conceded at Fulham after having taken an early lead are proof enough. Last weekend they were w\also 3-0 up at Siena after just 10 minutes, and somehow managed to draw the game by 3-3, and you don’t really want to side by a defense that has only kept one clean sheet in their last 10 games in all competitions, do you?

Picks:

Sampdoria win
Over 2.5 goals
