Sad news for Nottingham Forest as former Chairman dies

Nottingham Forest owner Nigel Doughty, aged 54, was found dead at his home on Saturday afternoon. Doughty had bought the once legendary club in 1999 for a paltry £11 million, and had invested in the club’s development for the last decade and a bit.

Nottingham Forest announced the sad news on the club’s official website, stating that Mr. Doughty had been discovered dead in his gym. With limited information currently available on the cause of death, the club have requested for privacy from the fans and the media alike.

Doughty had been serving as Chairman of the club for most of the last decade, having stepped down from the role in October, and had been replaced by club legend Frank Clark.

Nottingham Forest currently play in the Championship, narrowly missing out on promotion last season. They gained legendary status around Britain and the rest of Europe in the 1970s when they won two European Cups under manager Nigel Clough.

Think you should check your report as Forest was managed by Brian Clough in the 70′s Nigel is his son and unless he was managing clubs as a schoolboy then I doubt this is right.
