Despite being widely touted to take over the managerial reins for the England national side, Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp has denied that he has given the prospect any thought.
Speaking to the BBC, Redknapp stated, “I’ve never thought about [the England job], [The FA] will make whatever decision they want to make and hopefully it will be right for the country.”
The veteran manager also went on to add that his entire focus is on Tottenham currently and that he was surprised that Capello decided to resign so suddenly.
Although Redknapp will certainly not be the only person that the FA will be looking at, he will definitely be one of the frontrunners given his vast experience and excellent record. Moreover, Redknapp is an Englishman and would fit the bill, especially with calls for a homegrown manager becoming stronger.
Even though Tottenham will want to hold on to Redknapp, especially after the 64-year old has guided them above the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool this season, it will be an extremely tough ask for them, given the stature and the prestige associated with being the manager of England as well as the sky high wages that come along with it.

Harry should be given the job after the euros. Hiddink is the best candidate to lead the team into the tournament. His been there and done it all before.
I would love to see mourinho take over at tottenham once harry goes. It would be interesting to see what he could do with a tight budget. His signing would also keep players like modric and bale at the club.
