Real Madrid still want FOUR more players – including Alonso!

A report on Channel4 Italia says that Real Madrid still haven’t finished their buying of superstars, and intend to buy four more, including Liverpools Alonso. Their article said: Serie A’s top clubs can’t breathe easy just yet as Real Madrid are planning to sign another four players, according to their director of sport Jorge Valdano.

The Spanish giants have already spent £181m this summer on Kaka, Cristiano Ronaldo, Raul Albiol and Karim Benzema.

Yesterday, UEFA President Michel Platini condemned their actions and promised to look into the possibility of introducing a salary cap by 2012.

After signing Kaka for £56m last month, Real have been strongly linked with another of Serie A’s biggest stars, namely Inter striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

“In the beginning we had to hurry but now we can hold back,” Valdano told Punto Radio.

“We will continue to buy great footballers because it has been demonstrated that this philosophy is right. We are a club that wants to be a leader and this is possible only with the best in the world,” he explained.

Inter can rest easy, though, as Real are now looking for a central midfielder and have their sights firmly set on Liverpool’s Xabi Alonso.

However, before they make an offer for the Spain international, Valdano intimated Real would trim down their squad.

That is good news for Italian clubs as it means the likes of Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, Arjen Robben and Mahamadou Diarra are up for grabs not to mention Ruud Van Nistelrooy and Royston Drenthe.

They are buying a complete new team of superstars, but, like Man City, will they be able to make them into a winning team?

i hope real madrid crash and burn. they are destroying football as a community sport and are a disgusting example of excess. Kaka for all his two faced morality is a football whore and should keep his dirty mouth shut when it comes to other clubs players. He may take it up the arse from Perez but shouldn’t pimp for him as well. Sky TV and ludicrous wage demands have destoryed a once great sport. Just wait until the Yanks get involved……..
