It is being reported this morning that the Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho is planning to test Arsenal’s resolve by offering £30m for the Gunners captain Robin Van Persie this January.
According to Caughtoffside (and rehashed by the Daily Mail!) Van Persie has refused to discuss a contract extension at the Emirates and Arsene Wenger may be forced into selling the prolific striker in the summer, just as happened with Sami Nasri a few months ago.
The Dutch international is in the form of his life but has always been considered to be too injury-prone by Arsenal supporters, so it may pay Arsene Wenger to seriously consider the Real Madrid offer if Van Persie can remain injury-free until January.
One thing is certain is that Wenger won’t be happy with having to see Van Persie to Manchester City next summer as the Gunners are being perceived as simply a feeder club to their rich rivals.

Kaka plus Benzema and he’s theirs. Tommy V for captain. All sorted, thanks very much.
They should give us benzema plus 10m
