Ramsey not worried about facing Shawcross again

The Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey suffered an horrific injury at the hands (feet!) of the Stoke captain Ryan Shawcross a couple of years ago, but now says he has no trepidation about facing them again in the Premier League this weekend.

It is certain that many Arsenal have never forgiven Shawcross for the tackle which kept Ramsey out of the game for over nine months and the hardman can expect a lot of stick at the Emirates, but as far as Ramsey is concerned all he is interested in is getting another three points for Arsenal.

Ramsey said: “I’ve played against them since breaking my leg and I’m fine.”

“It’s just another game for me. What happened before is in the past now, and I’m just looking forward to getting back out there and playing another game for Arsenal.

“We haven’t had the greatest of starts to the season, but hopefully now we’ve turned a bit of a corner,’ added the midfielder.

“We’re getting a few wins on the bounce and hopefully we can just keep that going.”

Arsenal are hot favourites to get there sixth win in a row at the Emirates, but I’d rather bet on how many times Shawcross gets jeered by the Arsenal fans!

Shawcross must be bricking it at the thought of those scary Arsenal fans booing him. At least it will make a change of them booing their own players.
