Talksport are reporting that QPR are set to go head-to-head with Tottenham for the services of Blackburn star Junior Hoilett, who is apparently available for a cut-price £7m.
Only yesterday there was speculation that Tottenham were looking at a double raid on Blackburn with defender Chris Samba also speculated to be on Harry Redknapps wish list, however those plans could be thrown into disarray now that QPR have entered the race to sign the 21 year old Canadian born winger.
Hoilett has attracted some rave reviews for his performances for relegation threatened Blackburn and manager Steve Kean will not be at all willing to sell the youngster, however Blackburn are a club with significant debts and their owners do not look like they have a strategy or plan to deal with the financial crisis and selling their best players may simply be the only option open to them.
Spurs would, on paper, appear to be the more attractive option for Hoilett however it may come down to money, Hoilett’s father has already stopped his son from declaring his allegiance to Canada simply because he believes he will get more endorsements from playing for Jamaica at International level and that in itself tells you that money will dictate which club Hoilett ends up at.
