Despite being Manchester United’s and the Premier League’s joint top scorer last season with 21 goals, it seems that Dimitar Berbatov has fallen out of favour with Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson, and many would point at the fact he was left out of the team list for the Champions League final at Wembley against Barcelona as the overall proof of the pudding.
It seems with reports coming in from France, that the French club Paris Saint Germain are set to tempt Manchester United for his signature this summer, with an opening bid believed to worth around the £12 million for the services of the Bulgarian hit man, while reports said that the Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp was offered his services at just £10m.

Despite the player stating his desire to stay and fight for his place in Manchester Uniteds first team, it would seem that, with Michael Owen receiving a one year extension to his contract at Old Trafford, that his time with the Premier League champions Manchester United is all but over, and all suggestions that he would remain at the club are now all but in tatters for the once much-coveted striker.
No-one is sure exactly why this breakdown has occurred, but one thing is clear, whether he goes to Tottenham or he moves abroad, the fact remains that Manchester United could end up rueing the day they let him go, unless Sir Alex Ferguson can bring in a striker worthy enough to replace the Bulgarian.
