It was reported that this morning that the Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger had made a “derisory” 6m bid for the Bolton defender Gary Cahill.
Many Arsenal Fans found it hard to believe that Wenger would go in with such a low price and suggesetd that it was just a made up story by the press, but Owen Coyle today confirmed that Arsenal did indeed make Bolton an offer, but he said it was WORSE than derisory!

Coyle was quoted as saying: “There was a conversation between the Bolton chairman Phil Gartside and a representative of Arsenal,”
“I’m only passing this on as a third party, but the word derisory doesn’t even cover it.
“When I make an offer for a player, I’d like to think in the right ball park, but this wasn’t even close.”
So it’s official, even with 100m in his pocket to spend on transfers, Wenger STILL refuses to pay the asking price!

Wenger out!
this is shocking.. Wenger just needs to go. In Arsene we trust. what a load of rubbish. how can you trust a man that lets our best players go and tries saving the money to invest into the ‘business’ get a manager in who cares more about the team then making sure we have enough money to build flats or to put in the kitty. HELLO ARSENE we are a football club not a stock exchange. what will happen when all these reserve players get injured, we will be in trouble right trouble and guess what, we are playing utd on the weekend and they will tear us a new one good and proper because unlike us utd had finished their business come end of June, we are already into the season and look at what great planning we have done already we are right in it. you have the whole world telling what the problem is and yet this is what he comes up with. its a discrace and embarassment to the fans. The price offered clearly shows how stubborn he is, get him out, this team is not the Arsenal we know.6M!!!!!!!!!you are have a giraffe mate
Every timeArsenal come in with a big Coyle ups the price. What would he do if Man City came in for Cahill with x amount would he sell then. Anyway as the player is in his final year of contract and wants to play for Arsenal wouldn’t you rather sell than lose him for nothing at the end of this season, no matter what the price offered for him was, it’s better than nothing, but then Coyle is that type of manager, perhaps he’s afraid his cut of the transfer purse won’t be enough for him.
Wenger did it right.. A English defender whom had zero experience playing in CL is worth £10m or less. If Coyle wishes to profilt alot from a player sale… Try the stock exchange.
If Cahill is that good, I would expect Chelsea or ManCity had snatched him already.
