Mascherano does want out of Liverpool

Spanish radio this evening has reported that Javier Mascherano does want to Liverpool and that the only way he will stay is if he is forced to by the club.

This by all accounts is one of the reasons that Barcelona have decided to finally move forward and make a firm offer for the Liverpool midfielder.

Liverpool have fought tooth and nail to deny that Mascherano is leaving but it seems they have now come to the conclusion that the player simply does not want to stay.

The radio reporter said his info came from a very close associate of Javier Mascherano and that Barcelona are aware of their desire to go to the Nou camp.

News broke this morning in Spain and through out Europe that Liverpool had given permission for the player to speak with the European champions and this latest report gives credence to the speculation.

IF HE WANTS TO GO LET HIM , BUT GET THE PROPER PRICE FOR HIM , IT IS PRE WORLD CUP SEASON , PLAYERS DO NEED TO PLAy in their leagues , rafa i think will already have replacements in mind.

  2. nathan says:

Note the use of the phrases, ‘By all accounts…but it seens…’ also note that the sources cited in this article are ‘Spanish radio,’ ‘the radio reporter,’ and ‘a very close associate of Mascherano’s’. Vague unsubstantiated speculation.

  3. LFC Forever says:

Oh well… if he wnats to go, let him go. He must just remember who made him what he is today… “LIVERPOOL FC” CIAO Masch.

  4. paul says:

seems his wife want him to move, well at least she will get to see him a lot as he wont get many games for barca.

  5. dwesty says:

If he’s going it’s bad news, but don’t let him go for less than 35m euros.

Good point there about the World Cup Denis- he’d be a nob to go to Barca. He should sign an improved contract and we can sell him for silly money in another year after he’s impressed in the world cup…

  6. TF says:

Rafa saved him from a nightmare at west ham and this is how he repays him flirting with barca.Agents are ruining the game good ridance we will cope but know rafa has to lick alonso’s arse so he stays.

  7. pete says:

I hope this is unsubstansiated rubbish, but Macherano needs to come out and say publicly he is commited to the club and the fans who made him – otherwise fuck off and I wish him all the ill in the world for his lack of loyalty. Lets remember we made him, we let him go to the Olympics, we tolerated his game destroying (id technically correct) behaviour at the Scum last season – I am SICK of the way players think they can do what they want when they want and fuck the contract and in essence the fans.

  8. Tiktox says:

£25m and Yaya Toure. Then get Silva or Mata and keep Alonso. Bingo!

  9. paulfc says:

Typical Spanish radio, i live in Spain and wouldn’t listen to a word of it. I’m sure he is interested in Barca, and i’m sure if they were willing to pay stupid money Liverpool would listen, but i don’t think he’s desparate to go anywhere, not with the world cup straight after the season. I think he would be quite happy to stay where he is. He was trying to talk Tevez into joining not long ago before he heard Barca were interested. They’ve purposely upset the applecart at Anfield and an investigation should be launched by FIFA into (a) Teams that stalk players (b) agents whom i’m sure we all agree don’t make things easier for players or clubs and (c) the point in having contracts if players consistantly piss all over them!

  10. RafaTheRed says:

Yaya Toure 0r Seydou Keita plus £20m and you can have him!

Big loss, however if a player wants to leave, especially one who owes the manager and the club a massive dept then I think he needs to go!

Selfish players are not what LFC are about and what we need.

  11. notice how they don’t say he wants to leave “Spanish radio this evening has reported that Javier Mascherano does want to Liverpool”
but all the same Yaya Toure plus 35mE the OK
