The Man Utd manager Alex Ferguson saw his new signing Ashley Young win all three points for his team at West Brom, but injuries to his centre-back partnership of Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand has put a damper on the day.
Added to that is the fact that Rafael Da Silva dislocated his shoulder in training on Friday, which will leave Sir Alex with a threadbare defence for the next couple of weeks at least.

Ferguson said after the game: “We’ve had a torrid time with injuries.
“Young Rafa has done his shoulder in training on Friday and will be out for 10 weeks. He’s probably going to have an operation.
“Rio will be out for six weeks. Vida will have checks on Monday, we don’t know if it’s just a nerve or something, but he could be out for a couple of weeks.”
Patrice Evra, Antonio Valencia, Michael Owen and Javier Hernandez were all missing yesterday through injury as well so Ferguson will be hoping that sme of them recover in time for next weeks difficult fixture against Tottenham.
