Man Utd V Everton preview

man_utdLast season Everton came close to beating United at the Merseyside despite having conceded first. Things were going their way in the 2nd half but the game ended in a draw never the less.

Everton also knocked out Man Utd from the FA Cup semi-final on a PK shoot-out last season, so there’s always a chance the Toffees could cause Sir Alex’ men problems, but not today I suspect.

It is much more likely that United will do the double over Everton this season which gives an indication of Evertons prospects when visiting Manchester..

Still, you never know when this seemingly inconsistent United side hits the pitch, and an EPL game between an international break and a CL midweek rounds just isn’t suitable to back them on such poor odds, even if it was at Old Trafford.

Sir Alex will be happy with the return of Vidic, Berbatov and Ji Sung Park back to fitness, but Rio Ferdinand is still the most important absentee.

Everton finally ended a winless run of 7 games when they last hit the pitch (away at West Ham), but without Pienaar, Osman and –most importantly- Arteta I can’t see them going to Old Trafford and actually getting a result there.

Conclusion: I can’t bet on either side nor can I bet against them. I acknowledge there’s a much better chance for United to win here, but the odds on it really suck.

Perhaps the only market I still see value on is the under 2.5 goals, as it would have collected 7 times out of the last 10 H2H games, yet is still priced well above evens, despite the fact that 3 of the last 4 games for each side also went under 2.5

Pick:

Under 2.5 @ 2.13 w/ Pinnacle

Anyone know why Obertan isn’t in the squad today?
