A report in the Daily Express suggests that Manchester United are chasing Juventus striker Mirko Vucinic with the player’s agent confirming the rumours linking the player with the Premier League leaders.
Montenegro international Vucinic arrived at Juventus after 5 successful years at Roma and has been a key figure in manager Antonio Conte’s side. Vucinic has managed 18 goals in 62 appearances for the club in all competitions, including 6 in the league this campaign.
Manchester United have an abundance of sorts in the strikers’ department with Robin van Persie, Wayne Rooney, Javier Hernandez and Danny Welbeck fighting for positions in attack. The club have also been constantly linked with Dortmund frontman Robert Lewandowski but face competition from Bayern Munich for the player.
A move for Vucinic seems a little out-of-proportion for United with all the resources at their disposal while Juventus are also said to be keen to retain services, despite Fernando Llorente’s pending move in the summer.
But the player’s agent has added, “It is not up to me to say, but United is a club of world level, as well as Juventus. So it is normal that this kind of teams follow Mirko. Do we have problems with the arrival of some top players at Juve? Absolutely not, it would only be a good thing for him. The coach Antonio Conte considers Vucinic a key player for his way of playing. He scores and creates assist for his team-mates.”
