A report in todays Daily Mirror says that Sir Alex Ferguson may have found a new South American striker to replace Carlos Tevez. The report says: Brazilian striker Nilmar is being tracked by Manchester United as they weigh up a £20million bid.
United boss Sir Alex Ferguson badly needs to strengthen his attacking options after losing both Cristiano Ronaldo and Carlos Tevez this summer.
And the exciting Nilmar, 24, is one option as they look to revamp their squad.
Old Trafford scouts are out in force at the Confederations Cup where Nilmar, has taken his tally of Brazil caps to eight.
Agent Jorge Mendes, broker of Ronaldo’s world-record transfer to Real Madrid, is said to be involved.
Nilmar flopped after joining Lyon for £5m in 2004 but has now returned to form for his club Internacional.
