Man Utd, Everton, Aston Villa and Coventry prepare to raid Leeds Utd!

After the massive disappointment of his team being knocked out of the League One playoffs by Millwall, the Leeds United manager, Simon Grayson, knows that he now has to face a summer of keeping his team together for another assault on automatic promotion next season.

The star midfielder Fabien Delph has impressed many Premiership teams with his play this season, and has reportedly told team-mates that he wouldn’t be able to resist a chance to play in the top flight. Man Utd, Everton and Aston Villa have all been linked with making a bid for him this summer.

While top scorer Jermain Beckford has today been linked with a move to Championship side Coventry by the Sunday Express. But Grayson is happy to say that these top players are under contract, but realises that if a massive bid comes in then he may well have to let them go.

Grayson said: “We now know where we are with budgets. We will have a couple of days to get over losing in the play-offs and then on Monday the preparations for next season start. I am so glad the majority of the squad are under contract, only three are out of contract (this summer). We do not need to sell any players unless we get ridiculous offers for them.

“There will be a lot of hype about certain players leaving the club but I know the chairman is very reluctant to do anything like that. We will build on the group we have here now.”

It will be interesting to see how big the offers are for these two, Fabien Delph may be particularly hard to keep in the squad for next season.

Ha ha ha. Again, how hilarious! How many times have we heard this utter drivel repeated time and time again. These teams have been preparing to raid Elland Road for a long time now. Where are they? Let`s see the colour of their money! And can how much money have Coventry got and can they afford to buy Becks? Doubtful.
The only reason Leeds have sold players in the past is that they were skint! They almost had to force Kilgallon, Hulse, Blake and the more illustrious players from the past out of the club because Leeds United needed the money at the time. Like most players at ER they didn`t want to leave! The team at the moment isn`t exactly the best it`s ever been but what with the club`s top class training facilities, fan base and everything else it`s a great club to be involved with. The club is now on a sound financial footing and don`t need to sell players anymore. All the players mentioned here are under contract anyway.

    Here we go again
Rumour, rumour rumour, do these people that create these have a life?

    Alex-
“Yes, how hilarious… Oh that’s right, Beckford says he wants to leave!!! Hehe.”
Now, when has Becks ever said he wants to leave? As there`s only 12 months left on his contract his AGENT said he wants to leave as a bargaining chip for his next contract.
However, the club has called his agent`s bluff and put him on the transfer list! Who knows-Mr Bates may be hoping to cash in on him and use the money to buy a striker with a more professional attitude, turns up at the big games, works hard and only needs to score half the goals that his predecessor did and not get carried for most of the game by Luciano Becchio. Remember he`s got twelve months to make his mind up and if the right offer comes in (see my earlier post) for him or any other player for that matter he goes…
