The Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has already seen Samir Nasri and Gael Clichy force through moves to Manchester City this summer, after Emmanuel Adebayor and Kolo Toure have in previous years, and now it seems that Roberto Mancini is itching to steal another top Gunner next summer.
Robin van Persie took over from Cesc Fabregas as captain this season, but the Dutchman will only have 12 months left on his contract at the end of the season and is well aware that Nasri doubled his wages when he decided to move up to the Eastlands, as well as joining a club that intends to challenge for every honour available this season and every season thereafter.

Wenger has already admitted that his hands are tied during contract renewal talks, and he wouldn’t be surprised if even more stars leave the Emirates in search of bigger paypackets.
Theo Walcott and Thomas Vermaelen are also due to meet the Arsenal board to discuss contract extensions this season, and Wenger conceded that they will not be easy to convince them to sign. He said: “Our desire is there to convince them to stay.”
“We tried before and the financial gap on that front has become bigger for us.”
If van Persie does decide he has had enough of being trophyless and wants to move on, perhaps the conception that Arsenal are simply Man City’s feeder club will be strongly reinforced…..

U guys are full of s***. Are u guys now doing the scouting for Mancity? Has mancity shown any interest in Van Persie? How much where u paid to write this unfounded article? If Walcott and Van Persie wld leave, what makes u think it wld be to Moneycity?
This is a crap article. Robin has arsenal flowing in him. He is not a nasri. He is heading to a thiery!!!!
absolute bs RVP is arsenal through and through stop looking for stories to destabilize the mighty arsenal.
The rules of the game have to change so that the mega rich can not tear the hearts out of clubs down the pecking order. This is not a football competition it is extortion in it`s worst form and has to be stopped.
Mancity less arsenal = 9ponts in six games. This is not a threat. We are coming. 32games left equal to 96points which is abovechampion Everage points per season. Therefore we are all still there. it is amatter of planning now.
I can see wqlcott song wnd arshavin being sqcrificed in order to keep rvp. with hazard mvila and martin being lined up as replacements.
Robin is a class, is the only one that can score the goals,he is going on where bet it
I hope there is no truth in the rumour that Man City are after RvP, by far he is at the moment our best player and we cannot afford to lose any more players especially to our competitors. However I just think it’s the gutter press stirring up trash stories to ignite contraversy. But somehow I think RvP will stay loyal to Arsenal as long as Wenger sorts out Robin’s, Arshavin, Vermaelan & Walcott’s contracts before they run out. If it means giving pay rises so be it, but we can’t afford to lose these top class players.

Well said Aussie Jack, Arsenal can start the ball rolling by giving back Alex Oxlaide-Chaimberlain and Theo Walcott to Southampton, then Gervinho, then Robin Van Persie to Feyenoord, and all the other players they have purchased off clubs below them in the league.
Didn’t think it through did you cobber?
As to this headline about City “stealing” Van Persie, what are they going to do, kidnap him?
Or more likely they’ll purchase his services with a fee above the market value of an injury prone player, thereby being the party who have been “robbed”.
What a pile of pants this article is.
This HAS to be a load of rubbish. Not sure about the journalistic integrity here. Just because AW mentioned that it could be hard to hold on to some players doesnt mean MCity will bid for them. They ahve enough strikers. mancini must relaise they can reach a point where more is less, he doesnt need more high-proced disgruntled players that the club cannot offload due to their wages.
I do agree with Aussie Jack. Plus Arsenal MUST stop selling to their closest rivals – something I will never understand.
