5 consecutive Premiership draws saw Man City slipping away from the title race. They could still get back into it with a couple of good results, but could also have been much further had not many other teams results gone their way.
The 3-3 home draw to Burnley on Saturday sent Mark Hughes fuming. Obviously he was disappointed by his side conceding 3 at home, and more importantly giving away the game from a winning position for the 2nd time at the City of Manchester stadium.
“We certainly don’t expect to concede three at home, and we need to address that.
“It is frustrating and disappointing because we got ourselves into a winning position.
“We have to learn to see games out because we have drawn two games at home from winning positions.
“Ideally we would have preferred maximum points, but there are lessons to be learned and we need to recognise areas where we need to improve.”
Money may have built the Citizens a strong team, and they certainly are not short on the fans support department. What they still appear to be a tad short of is the winning mentality. Despite having brought some world class players, they still failed to convince us they are a serious title challenger, let alone a title winning side.
