The Man City executives have been putting their money where their mouths are, and attempting to line up a formidable strike force at the Eastlands.
Carlos Tevez is now nearly certain to join City, according to the News of the World. They have agreed to meet Kia Joorabchian’s asking price of £32m, and are happy to pay the Argentinian a massive £140,000 a week to move across Manchester.
And the People has revealed that City representatives have met Jose Maria Mesalles, the agent of Barcelona’s Samuel Eto’o, and have agreed even higher personal terms with the Cameroon striker. He is reported to have been offered a mega £160,000 a week.
Barcelona don’t want to let him go, but as he enters the final year of his contract the Spanish giants will be happy to accept a £30m bid from City rather than let him go for free next summer.
