As the start of the new season draws closer the negative comments aimed at Man City are starting pick up momentum.
Comments attributed to Gael Clichy of Arsenal and Rio Ferdinand of Man Utd are just the latest in what has become a steady stream of negativity.
Clichy has said that anyone going to Man City is basically only going for the money while Rio Ferdinand has been quoted as saying that Man City won’t win anything and are not any sort of competition.
One has to remember the same sort of comments were aimed at Chelsea just a few years ago and it is not that hard to put the latest comments down to jealousy or envy.
Man City are now considered a serious threat to the top four in some quarters and it is therefore surprising that terms like not a big club and so forth are used.
If Man City do end up securing John Terry’s services and strengthen the weakest parts of their team the likes of Ferdinand may rue the day they made such rash comments.

begins?!! .. it’s been going on for flaming weeks, much of it stoked by the big-4 loving media, seething and frothing at the mouth at the thought of perennial joke club, little old Cideh, having the nerve to try and upset the rightful claim of the big4 to remain such .. do me a favour!
Man City will struggle with all the egomaniacs at city, they only joined for cash, not honours. At least when players joined Chelsea, Chelsea were playing champions league football, unlike City.
Adebyewhore & the rest are not motivated by success, only greed.
Hughes is not man for the job.

- Perfect example. Thankyou, Price. You’ve given the perfect example of said rash comments. Well done!
Smithy you prick they have joined City to make us good enough to win honours you short sighted jealous twat.
Why doesn’t that slipper lipped tosspot mind his own buisness, man city transfers have got nothing to do with him, or his bacon faced boss, unless he’s getting a little worried.Or is it because he’s not been linked with us but Vidic has.
So Captain Price, only players who join City are interested in money. So in that case all players at (so called) top 4 clubs play for free and follow the OLd Corinthians spirit. It really is sad to see all the arrogance and jealousy of top 4 players and fans. Does anyone genuinely think that if an average player like Mr Clichy was offered £200,000 per week he would turn it down to play for his beloved Arsenal, who he has supported all his life of course?
Jealousy and envy. Love it. Simply love it. And theres going to be much much more of in the years to come as City’s project proceeds. This is just the start of it all guys. I reckon Ferguson will be gone after this season. Back to the f*****g Gorbals.
how is it manchester united can only make the back pages when they start calling manchester city
Terry was rubbish last season and spendin £40m on him is a joke he’s worth 10m tops ! If you were to offer that money to Rio I would understand but then he wouldn’t go would he?
There is no way Man C will come top four with the players they got so far even with Terry, Tour and Lescott included. Had they bought Kaka, Ronaldo, Torres, Arshavin, Fabregas, Vidic, Rio i would have been worried!
