Reports are coming in this morning that the Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish has decided to reinforce the Anfield defense with the giant Blackburn centre-back Christopher Samba.
Samba tried very hard to engineer a move to Arsenal in the summer, but now that Wenger has brought in Per Mertesacker that avenue is closed, but Liverpool are aware that he still has high hopes of playing for a bigger team while he is at his physical peak.
Blackburn are currently in the relegation dogfight and Samba is becoming increasingly disillusioned with Venkys promises of ambition that don’t materialise and Samba realises he is likely to be playing in the Championship next season if he doesn’t leave soon.
Dalglish knows that his mate Jamie Carragher is unlikely to be playing full-time for much longer and needs another big powerful defender to replace him. Samba could be perfect with his Premiership experience.
