Liverpool looking bring Barcelona youngster to Anfield in the summer

Giovani dos Santos’ little brother Jonathan could soon follow in his brother’s footsteps and leave Barcelona, having grown frustrated with life at the Catalan club after making just 5 appearances for the senior team all season.

The soon to be 23 year old is a full Mexican international, having been capped 6 times by the national team, but yet spends most of his time warming the benches at the Camp Nou.

Dos Santos was linked with a departure from Barcelona last season too, but was called up to the first team at the start of the new season by New boss Tito Vilanova, and promised more game time. That has failed to materialize, and there is every chance that the Mexican will try and force an exit this summer so that he can get on with his career.

The Metro reports that Liverpool are interested in bringing Dos Santos to Anfield as part of Brendan Rodgers’ rebuilding mission, and the player’s recent admission is likely to help their chances.

Dos Santos declared, “Next season is incredibly important to me. I want to play more and more often. At the end of the season, I will sit down and see what’s best for me.”
