Liverpool lining up a move for Turkish international hit man

According to reports, Liverpool are interested in signing Galatasaray forward Burak Yilmaz.

It looks like Brendan Rodgers’ search for a new striker has taken them to Turkey this time around. Liverpool were left short in numbers upfront at the start of this season as Andy Carroll joined West Ham on loan and the English club failed to sign most of their transfer targets. Things have worsened now that Fabio Borini has suffered a fractured foot while on international duty. Luis Suarez is the only senior striker available to Rodgers right now.

Given the shortage of forwards in the squad, it is imperative that Liverpool will have a busy winter transfer window. Burak Yilmaz have been in good goal scoring form for couple of years now. Last season, he was linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham before he signed for Galatasaray from Trabzonspor. Burak scored 33 goals in the league last season for Trabzonspor, breaking the club record for most number of goals in a season previously held by Fatih Tekke. Galatasaray signed him at the start of this season for €5 million and he has maintained his goal scoring streak for his new club. Burak has already bagged five goals in his last six appearances for the Turkish club in the domestic league.

Galatasaray values Burak at around £13million, a price tag Liverpool should be comfortable dealing with. The 27-year-old striker can be a good back-up for Luis Suarez upfront.
