Liverpool lead race to sign Nigerian International

Reports in Nigeria have claimed that some of Europe’s top clubs including Liverpool and Tottenham have been following the progress of Marseille left back Taye Taiwo.

Liverpool apparently sent talent scout Damien Comilli to watch Taiwo in the recent friendly against Sierra Leone and view the player as a ready made fit for the problem left back position.

The Nigerian Tribune also claims that Tottenham have watched the player along with Real Madrid, Manchester City, Manchester United and Juventus, but their headline made it clear that it is Liverpool that are the clear front runners.

It would be strange for Tottenham to go after the player, they already appear to be set with left sided players, the same to a certain degree applies to Manchester United, the same however cannot be said about Manchester City, they will but almost anybody.

One thing is becoming clear, that Liverpool will be very active in the transfer window come the summer as they continue the rebuilding process at Anfield.

yay!!with Marveuax,Taiwo,Mexes coming on a free we’ll start the rebuilding process..
    Reina/Gulacsi
    Johnson/Kelly Carragher/Mexes Agger/Skrtel Taiwo/Aurelio
    Gerrard/Eriksen Banega/Lucas Meireles/J.Cole
    Hulk/Kuyt Carroll/Pavlyuchenko Suarez/Marveaux
Eriksen costs 10-12 million,Banega 16-18 million,Hulk 20-25 million and Pavlyuchenko 7-8 million as he is fed up from Tottenham and wants to leave..that makes 63 million at maximum and this squad has a lot of talent to challenge for the title..Considering that Aquilani,El Zhar,Degen,Insua,Konchesky,Jovanovic,Poulsen,Kyrgiakos,Ngog,Maxi are sold that gives us 35-40 million..Comolli is already planning for the summer transfer window and he is keeping tabs everywhere in the world to find young and talented players..NESV have the money to support us with transfers and Dalglish is a person who should be given the job permanently as i can consider him being what Guardiola is at Barca, meaning united the players as one and make a great team chemistry..full support to NESV,Kenny and Comolli and i expect the coming summer to be HUGE for us..YNWA

We haven’t yet confirmed the Marveaux deal as far as i know, Im told by a Liverpool jouro that it is very likely. If we get Taiwo on a free that would be excellent business, this allows money to go on a ‘world class’, striker and winger????

Mexes!!! are you smoking something illegal! Wilson will be getting regular starts next season

why are u guys on about centre halves we got cara, agger, skrtel and kelly and wilson two young quality talents to fill in aswell johnson can shift to right side again with taye on the left side and we need a quality winger like hazard, young, gervinho or someone like that and charlie adam

Jeez Hamid look at Skrtel and how he’s playing and with Soto reaching the end (he’s done well for us but we need to move on) there is an obvious need for at least one centre half in the summer. You can’t put a kid with little experience in at centre back and hope to compete at the very top. Kelly may well end up at centre half but you don’t switch him there yet. If Taiwo comes it seems a good signing but Liverpool need 7 to compete at the very top (at least 3 defenders 2 cb, and a lb, a dm, 2 wingers and a forward). While the improvement under Kenny is welcome we still have a way to go before the damage done by hicks and gillett can be reversed.

    Is taiwo a good option?
