What facts have I got wrong exactly? I’ve called this website out on false stories because a number of them are. Secondly, this article is more than likely to be utter bullshit. The link you posted links to articles that say that Barcelona are interested in Mascherano and/or are preparing to make a bid. I’ve not once denied that this is the case, the only thing I have said is more than likely to be false is that Barcelona have already had a bid accepted and are in talks with Mascherano. I’ve not once denied that Barcelona are interested in Mascherano. What falsehoods have I spouted? The comments I’ve made have only been backed up by that link you posted!

I have every reason to have a pop because this website is shit for transfer rumours as morons like you populate it. And I do have my facts right, you may want to get your own right first son.

Your last point – what other sourcs have said this same story about Barcelona having a bid accepted? Even that link you posted had no stories saying that Barcelona have had a bid accepted.

El Mundo is about as reputable as The Sun, means sod all. And I haven’t seen anything on Sky Sports about Barcelona having a bid accepted. Funny though, I just read through the latest article on Mascherano on the Sky Sports website which says ‘But Laporta, who handed holding midfielder Yaya Toure a new contract on Saturday, remains a fan of the 25-year-old, and could yet consider making the Premier League Reds an offer’ (Source; http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11669_5405729,00.html). ‘Could yet make an offer’. Hmm, strange that, from that article it would suggest that Barcelona haven’t even made a bid. Even if Sky sports did run a story on it, their source would have been El Mundo, which is not creditable.

And my comment didn’t show up initially, hence why I wrote that second comment. But good going on calling me out over it when it has no relevance to this debate whatsoever, clearly you’re a very mature individual who is going to go far in life.

Your last comment contradicts your entire argument, so clearly you, and indeed this entire website, are on a wind-up.

I’ll stop bitching once this website stops spouting nonsense ;).

And no, any reputable source says that Barcelona have expressed an interest in signing Mascherano but not one has said that Liverpool have given permission to Barcelona to speak to Mascherano. Unless you count Goal.com as a reputable website. For the record, I’m not ruling out the possibility of Mascherano leaving Liverpool, I’m full aware that there’s a real chance of it happening. But to say that Barcelona have had a bid accepted and have been given permission to talk to Mascherano is difficult to believe because no one reputable has reported it, and also because of the total unreliability of this website and it’s source.

My initial issue wasn’t with Mascherano leaving Liverpool anyway, it’s how this website seems to conjure up stories out of nowhere, the majority of which are utter bullshit. That’s fine if you’re looking for a bit of excitement regarding your club and the possibility of a player coming in, but if you believe the stories that are reported on this website claiming that so-and-so has signed for a club or that ‘club x’ has had a bid accepted when no one else reputable has reported it, well then you’re just fooling yourself I’m afraid.

This is utter garbage.

El Mundo is the mouthpiece of Barcelona and always has been used for unsettling players or false rumours.

Mascherano is 25yrs old, going to improve as not at his peak, cost £17.5m and signed a 4 1/2 yr contract since when he has improved as a player, become captain of Argentina and is regarded of one of the best holding / defensive midfield players in world football.

If Valenicia and Johnson are worth £16 – 18m, and with the money being thrown around at ridiculous rates does anybody really think that Liverpool will sell him for 20m Euros (which would be at a loss at today’s rates)

Mascherano would be worth somewhere in the region of 40m Euros + but he will stay and sign an improved contract with Liverpool.

firstly; 20 million EUROS – seriously doubt it at that price. why would we put a tag of £40 – £50m on a priceless asset who has 4 years to go on his contract only to be talked into letting the skipper of Argentina go for a fraction of his worth

Rafa has already stated that Mascherano is not for sale for anything less than £50,000,000. He is to much of an integral part of the team and also the style of play. This story is utter rubbish as 20,000,000 euros translates to around £18,000,000 which is not even as much as we paid for him only a year ago!

I think yes Liverpool may have blown out their title chances before the PL has even started. 20M Euros is ridiculous for a player as influential as Mascherano. I don’t know what’s hapenning at our club but I really hope that Mascherano doesn’t go. Otherwise all this building up of the squad would have been useless. All this is because of these American blokes who know nothing about Liverpool FC, its fan and its culture…….
