Liverpool have apparently been sending representatives to monitor AC Milan’s Brazilian striker Pato, with a view to making a serious bid in the summer.
Pato has been linked with a move from the San Siro for some time now, PSG made no secret of the fact that would have liked to sign the 22 year old hit man and along with Man City and Chelsea had been seen as the favourites to land the signature of one of Europe’s most coveted players,
Liverpool for their part have barely been mentioned in relation to Pato, that now appears to have changed, if the reports on Italian radio have any substance to them. Liverpool are said to now be actively monitoring Pato, when he plays, and the Italian giants do in fact expect some form of approach.
Whether Pato would want to move to a club very likely to not be in next seasons Champions League is debatable, however no deal can be done until the summer and issues like Champions League participation, AC Milan s willingness to sell, Liverpool’s finances etc. can all be resolved then, for now it is interesting to hear what Liverpool’s intentions are.

Although this seems highly unlikely, Pato would be an absolutely top drawer addition to the Liverpool squad. Unless LFC earns a CL spot for next season, I just don’t see him coming to Anfield. Certainly don’t mind being linked with a striker of his class, this kid is an incredible finisher.
“Whether Pato would want to move to a club very likely to not be in next seasons Champions League is debatable.”?!?!?!?! VERY likely??? Really??? 4 points off 4th and the only side in the race for fourth who have played the top 3 home and away! 4 points off Arsenal and Chelsea both of which have to play Spurs and City again! Both also have to face each other AND come to Anfield where we are THE ONLY team in England unbeaten at home in all competitions this season! We also beat both sides in their own stadiums earlier in the season! “Very likely to not be in next seasons Champions League”? Do you work for Fergie? Completely off kilter view of the situation, I can only assume this was written by an over optimistic Chelsea or Arsenal fan or a United or Everton fan in denial over Liverpools chances of becoming a force again over the next few seasons. Liverpool MAY not be in the top 4 come May but it is most certainly not “very likely”, we have as much of a chance as Chelsea and Arsenal both of which have harder fixtures from now to the end of the season so 4 points is nowhere near an insurmountable lead.
