Liverpool have been on the trail of Borussia Dortmund’s highly-rated midfielder, Chrisitian Pulisic for a long time and a deal could materialize in January.
The Reds made an attempt to sign him in the summer but the deal fell through due to a difference in valuation by both clubs. However, the latest report from The Daily Mail has it that Liverpool are still interested in the 18-year-old wonderkid and are ready to bid for him when the winter transfer window opens in January.
North London rivals, Arsenal and Tottenham are also reported to be interested in his services but Liverpool are confident of landing the £25 million-rated midfielder ahead of their Premier League rivals, based on the relationship between Reds manager, Jurgen Klopp and his former team. It is believed Liverpool American owners are keen to have their compatriot playing at the club.
Pulisic has caught the attention of Klopp since making his debut earlier this year, and despite making just 18 appearances for the German club, a move to Anfield looks certain.
Although he has been limited in the Bundesliga, he has enjoyed more playing time in the Champions League, starting 5 of their 6 games so far. He has been involved in 8 goals for his club, scoring 2 and
assisting another 6.
With Coutinho out injured and Saido Mane leaving for the African Cup of Nations come January, Pulisic could be seen as an ideal replacement in the final third.
He can play on either flank of the attack and is a great dribbler of the ball. He is the best American player to come through since Chris Dempsey.
He has been impressive for his country age groups, netting 20 times in 34 appearances for the youth teams.
