Juventus have made a new move for Alberto Aquilani only to be rejected by the player who intends to stay and prove his worth at Anfield. According to the player this is not the first time that the Turin outfit have made a move for him and it will be music to Rafa Benitez that another one of his players has decided to stay at the club after so much speculation.
Speaking about the approach Aquilani said
“I am staying at Liverpool to make up for many things,”
“I have finally recovered from my ankle injury. Juve have approached me in the past and again now.
Aquilani did not have the best of seasons and came in for some severe criticisms from both the stands and pundits alike, however the player suffered a bad injury soon after he joined Liverpool and he will not be the first player that struggles in his first season in the English Premiership.
Benitez can now tick Aquilani off his list of pressing problems and concentrate on the likes of Javier Mascherano and Steven Gerrard who are both tipped for summer moves, there is also the Fernando Torres situation, that was thought to be settled with recent comments from his agent, however there have been reports that Torres had no idea what his agent was on about.
So still some issues to be resolved for Benitez, but he does appear to be on the right track recently and maybe things are now starting to settle down at Anfield.

Sorry, he never came in for any criticism from the stands. Only worthless TV pundits and other media sewer dwellers fell the need to lay into a player that spent most of the season injured and adjusting to the prem. I see the lad having a season that means I can laugh in the face of Gary Winston Lineker OBE and his child bride.
Alberto did NOT come in for “severe criticism from the stands”. He has ahad fantastic support. Why lie?
Alberto has been backed by the fans throughout the whole season and made to feel welcome at his new home.
I must stress we cant condone what these pundits have to say about our players, knowing especially most of them are anti Liverpool and now anti Benitez.
I would also like to add we have always backed Rafa but again cant control what the media and Fergie and his step sons ( Allardyce and Moyes) have to say about our manager.
When you have won as many trophies as we have i have to say im not suprised by this animosity shown towards our club.
( not arrogant just stating facts)

Aquality player and next season he will, as Rafa promised when he bought him, “excite the supporters”
Made up Aqui is staying, everytime he played last season he was Man of The Match for me
It usually takes foreigners 3 or more months to settle into English football and with Aquilani being injured for the 6 months beforehand he never really had much chance.
For me he has a good, creative brain for the football, but needs to increase his workload and strength and try to pick his passes better and more accurately. Its going to take time for him to do that, but once he does he will be a quality player for us.
i think if one goes they all will, but i feel torres is more likely to stay than gerrard, as for aqualani i dont care, get a striker, left back and two wingers, then we are sorted, need the money first though.
for the liverpool fans…aquilani has been outstanding for us, the few times he has worn the Red shirt. its sad the pundits would like to paint us with the same brush…we think he is great and there will be more to come from him…he will never walk alone!!!!
I agree with the other two comments — there was no criticism of Aquilani from fans. Whenever he was fit and played he was quite clearly a quality footballer.
Yeah, he’s never had severe critcism from the supporters. I think it”s fair to say a lot of us were disapppointed at times, but we’ve always wanted him to do well. He gave the ball away too much last season, and took a while to adapt to the pace of the English game. His commitment was always 100% though and you can’t fault the lad in that department. I think next season, we’ll start to see the best of him. We caught glimpses of what he’s capable of and he’s definitely one to watch.
The player came to us with the injury to his ankle we know it would take time for him to get over this and it did.But towards the end of the session when he was getting more game time you could see he was a class act. It always srikes me as funny that someone playing for Liverpool who does not do well right away gets so much stick but down the other end of the east lancs road you can get a player like Berbatov who cost 30 million playing rubish and no one on tv talks about it, Is it because they a scared of old red nose yes Andy Gray i mean you
severe critism from the stands?? who will be your next target? gerrard? carra? torres? masch? b*ll&ks!
Hats off to Alberto Aquilani !!! This is the kind of commitment required when you are part LFC. The club is above everything else. Gerrard, Torres and Mascherano please take note. The liverpool fans and supporters will always support dedicated players during good or bad days. Such kind of loyalty and support cannot be found in any other club in the world except Liverpool Football Club. Alberto is going to be the star of the next season
