Inter Milan wanted Chelsea duo for free!

There is much anger at Stamford Bridge today as it has been revealed that Inter milan were very keen on signing Deco and Carvalho from Chelsea, but have pulled out of the deal when they found out that they were expected to pay for them!

A report in todays Telegraph said: Chelsea’s deal to sell Ricardo Carvalho and Deco to Inter Milan is close to collapse after the Italian club demanded that they are allowed to sign both players for free.

Inter had hoped to tempt Chelsea into a player-swap deal or a bid for either Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Maicon but the Premier League club has insisted that it wants £12 million cash for the Portuguese internationals.

Both Deco and Carvalho have made clear that they want to leave Stamford Bridge and are furious that the moves have stalled. Inter are now turning their attentions to signing William Gallas from Arsenal, who may be sold for around £4 million, having indicated that with just one year left on his contract he is reluctant to discuss a new deal. However on Wednesday Gallas insisted he was happy to stay at the Emirates.

Chelsea have been surprised at Inter’s tactics, prolonging negotiations which had appeared close to being settled two weeks ago. The club are continuing their own rebuilding plans and are close on three deals.

They may announce the first of those, the free signing of Ross Turnbull from Middlesbrough, by the end of this week. The goalkeeper will compete with Henrique Hilario, who has not been released by Chelsea, to be Petr Cech’s understudy.

Chelsea are also close to announcing the arrival of Yuri Zhirkov from CSKA Moscow for £18 million and Daniel Sturridge from Manchester City for a fee to be settled by a tribunal. Chelsea are continuing to track both Franck Ribery and Andrea Pirlo.

Well okay we didn’t expect Inter to pay much for them, but to expect them for nothing is perhaps going just a little too far! I am a bit wary of asking for Chelsea’s fans reactions, but what the hell! What do you think?

    Chelsea suck!

  2. Sand says:

All the clubs want to exploit chelsea. This is just too bad. Well if the players complain then bench them or sell them to a club that are willing to pay. No matter what never let them go for free.

  3. Sulaimon says:

They didnt come to Stamford brigde for free so must pay something we can be runinng at lost let em pay or leave it

  4. Oluwafemi Ekundayo says:

chelsea should keep Carvalho but sell Deco if he cannot be given another chance to prove is worth under the new boss,Carlo Anceloti.
Carvalho is undoubtedly one of he best defenders in the word. Then how can we afford to loose such a priced access so cheap like that? Have we got an equally ‘up-to-the-task’ replacement for him? If not this we ever be our greatest mistake of all time.

i think we should let d 2 players go for free provided we can get maicon in d deal with a little cash given to inter cos maicon is worth more than d 2 players.
and that way,we would get ribery cos bayern wants bosingwa and we could use dat as a bait in getting a cheaper deal in getting ribery.
We could even get ibracadabra if we throw in a little cash as mourinho seems tired of d guy and he would complement as good power and skill upfront if drogba and anelka r misfiring plus his name alone is scary to most defences.
Besides, have you noticed Madrid got benzema for as low as under 40k euros?
i dont know wot madrid is doing but if this black secret of madrid comes out,its gonna send madrid down.

they should sell them to the club that pays what they cost… both are high quality players, its only that they didnt sound much this season because of coach’s decisions or injuries… but carvalho has always been a safe defender and deco was always brilliant at barcelona and portugal… i think 12 million is an acceptable price for both and they shouldnt let them go for free

  7. Vasilios says:

This story is crap. Inter didn’t want them for free, they just don’t want to match Chelsea’s asking price. And the idea that Inter were eager to offload Ibra or Maicon as part of the deal is even more laughable.

  8. T. Winston says:

Whoever Wrote this article is completely delusional

The only way players go for free is by mutual consent and or Contract expiration

Inter offered a sum for the pair and it is reported that chelsea would like 14m for them. which inter have deemed OVER market value for players over 30 and injury prone

Thus they expect lower but since chelsea believe that everyone are as silly as they are they think they can get their way even if they are a mediocre excuse for a club. They could have been great but the club is more like a toy and roman plays with it and when he does results go bad. selling gudjohnson robben and buying kalou shevchenko and ballack. can you really say this is a good club

carlvaho should play under anceloti, chelsea can swap recardo q to deco
