The West Brom manager Roy Hodgson was given the boot from Anfield just before Liverpool sold Fernando Torres to Chelsea, and although he is certain that Roman Abramovich made the right decision in taking Torres to Stamford Bridge, he hopes that Torres will not open his scoring account for the Blues when he plays at the Hawthorns this afternoon.
Hodgson said: “He is an outstanding footballer and a world class striker.
“He will be disappointed that things haven’t been going for him and will be out to prove a few people wrong.
“I wish him all the best but if he could just keep his shooting boots in his bag until after they meet us, then I would appreciate that.
“I believe Chelsea have made a great signing in him and will get a lot of joy out of him as well.”

Torres may have been misfiring since arriving at Chelsea from Liverpool, but Hodgson has completely turned around West Brom’s form and they have risen to tenth in the Premiership after flirting with relegation before Hodgson’s arrival.
Can he carry on his good form and frustrate Torres and Chelsea today?
